Anderson Area Crimestoppers recognizes efforts of Coordinator
Monday, April 4, 2011

ANDERSON, SC - Crimestoppers of the Midlands would like to congratulate our Coordinator Bobbie Schlatterer for all her hard work and dedication. She was recently recognized for all her hard work across SC in making our communities safer.

Senior Agent Bobbi Schlatterer was honored at a luncheon hosted by the Anderson Area Crimestoppers Board of Directors on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Board Chairman Kenny Caldwell, along with Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper and Anderson Chief of Police Martin Brown, presented Bobbi with an engraved plaque at their monthly meeting.

Mr. Caldwell told the crowd of approximately 30 board members and associates that "Bobbie epitomizes what a state employee should be," and shared examples of Bobbi "cutting through red tape" to assist the Anderson Crimestoppers program.

He cited one instance in which the Anderson Crimestoppers Board was prepared to spend a large sum of money for a software system to manage their tips. Bobbie arranged for them to tie into the SCIIC Crimestoppers Team system at no cost, and arranged for the SCIIC to field their calls and handle their tips.

Bobbie serves as the SCIIC Crimestoppers Team Leader. Last year, this 24-hour-a-day operation passed along nearly 6,000 tips to law enforcement agencies throughout the state, resulting in countless arrests. Bobbie also provides Crimestoppers PIO services to agencies statewide. As if that were not enough, she also volunteers as the Coordinator for the Crimestoppers of the Midlands Board of Directors.

Senior Agent Schlatterer is a third generation law enforcement officer, and returned home to South Carolina to serve with SLED following her retirement from the Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Police Department.

Bobbie has taken a successful program and expanded it to a nationally recognized program.
