Tuesday, March 29, 2011

COLUMBIA, SC - Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott announced today that the Columbia Police Department’s ProActive Community Enforcement (P.A.C.E.) Team and Keep the Midlands Beautiful are partnering to “Clean Up With The Cops” in the Lyon Street Community.

“Clean Up With The Cops” will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011, where Columbia Police’s P.A.C.E. Team, Keep the Midlands Beautiful and numerous religious, civic, social and youth groups will conduct a road side clean up throughout the community. Volunteers will meet at 8:00 a.m. at St. Anna Park (1313 Liberty Ave).

Chief Scott encourages members of the Lyon Street Community and others to participate in a day of fellowship and hard work for this neighborhood event.

Chief Scott continued to state that the P.A.C.E. Team’s main focus is about strengthening community relationships through programs like “Clean Up With The Cops”, attending community meetings and reducing the fear of community crime through education, enforcement and involvement.
