Deputies: iPad Stolen Outside Blythewood Walmart
Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Blythewood, SC (WLTX) - The Richland County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help identifying two people, seen on video surveillance tape, stealing an iPad from a Walmart shopping cart.

The incident happened about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Walmart on Killian Road in Blythewood. The woman who owned the iPad told sheriff's deputies that she had the iPad sitting inside her shopping cart. She said that she was putting her purchases from her cart into her vehicle when she turned around for a few moments. When she went to retrieve the electronic device, it was gone.

Deputies say video surveillance cameras captured two people picking up the iPad and putting it into a vehicle, before going into Walmart to shop.

They are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Crimestoppers of the Midlands at 1-888-CRIME-SC or text them by sending a message to "CRIMES" beginning with the term "TIPSC."
