Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Authorities are searching for a 47-year-old Aiken man they say was responsible for the production of child pornography, and the FBI needs your help finding him.

Federal investigators are looking for David Lee Sheffield, who they say is about 5'11" in height, about 195 pounds in weight, wears glasses and is considered a "heavy smoker."

Authorities say Sheffield could be driving a gray 1985 Oldsmobile two-door coupe with South Carolina tags AGU 931.

According to investigators, Sheffield may be working as a skilled repairman for computers, televisions, vacuum cleaners, and other electronic devices.

Sheffield was charged with a three-count indictment with production, distribution, and possession of child pornography, and he could face up to 30 years in prison if he's convicted of all charges. He could also face $750,000 in fines.

If you can help investigators find Sheffield, you are urged to call CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at 1-888-CRIME-SC or the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 803-551-4200.
