Thursday, January 27, 2011

GRANITEVILLE, S.C. (WRDW) - One person is recovering after a shooting near A.P. Nivens Street Tuesday night.

28-year-old Georgia Mckie says he was taken to Aiken Hospital by a relative after two men walked up to him and started shooting, Lt. Troy Elwell with the Aiken County Sheriff's Office said in an e-mail.

Mckie was hit once in the back.

Deputies began investigating and found the shooting happened nearby at an abandoned house at 412 Seastrunk Street. Investigators found a spent shell casing, a bullet and a quantity of cocaine inside the home, Elwell said.
