Suspect vehicle found in fatal Christmas Eve hit and run
Friday, December 31, 2010

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) - Investigators say they've found the vehicle they think was involved in a fatal Christmas Eve hit and run.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol located a black 1997 Ford Thunderbird with front end damage matching the description of the vehicle officials were searching for.

The discovery came from a tip placed through Crimestoppers.

Authorities say the driver of the Thunderbird, who is still on the run, struck and killed 43-year-old Clifton Davis of Columbia around 10 p.m. Friday on US 321 near Crane Church Rd.

The Highway Patrol continues their investigation.
