Friday, December 31, 2010

Aiken, SC (WLTX) - Aiken Public Safety officers are searching for the man they say is responsible for the Wednesday night armed robbery of the Kay Jewelers in the Aiken Mall.

Investigators say the crime happened at about 6:38 p.m. when a slender man with freckles, said to be about 170 pounds in weight and about 6' in height, walked into the store and told an employee he had a gun. That's when officers say he threatened to shoot the employee if she didn't follow his orders.

Officers say the man took a number of rings and left the store.

If you can help investigators find the suspect, you are urged to call CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at 1-888-CRIME-SC or text a tip to "CRIMES" beginning with the term "TIPSC."
