Missing Person Advisory: William Ira Pound Jr. "Billy"
Wednesday, December 29, 2010

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - Lexington County Sheriff's Department detectives are seeking help from citizens in finding a 54-year-old Batesburg-Leesville man who was reported missing to the Sheriff’s Department. The man has not been in contact with relatives since November 29.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said detectives have entered William Ira Pound, Jr. (pictured to the right), 54, of 148 Adams Park Road, Batesburg-Leesville, as a missing person on the National Crime Information Center computer database.

Pound is 5-foot-9 and weighs 250 pounds, Metts said. Pound has brown hair and black eyes. Pound might be driving a black 2001 Volkswagen Beetle, with South Carolina license plate AYJ 701.

Pound’s ex-wife, Sharon Pound, reported Pound missing to the Sheriff’s Department on December 11, Metts said. Sharon Pound told deputies that William Pound was last seen at his home on November 23 by their daughter. The last person to speak with William Pound was their daughter, who spoke with William Pound by telephone on November 29.

Sharon Pound told deputies that William Pound spoke with their two children almost daily, Metts said. Sharon Pound told deputies that it would be out of character for William Pound to remain out of communication with their two children for a long period of time.
